It depends on the state and on the setting you use. Front side window limits are set state by state and change over time, and some states prohibit aftermarket film on front side windows entirely. We don't publish a state-by-state guide — check your state's current vehicle code before you install or use it.

That depends on the shade you chose, and the shade is permanent – it’s how your glass looks in both states. White is closest to bare glass and turns frosted translucent white when it’s off. Light Black keeps a visible tint at all times. Dark Black is deep enough that it stays dark day and night.

No. Frosted is frosted in both directions, so set it clear before you drive. Bear in mind the shade is still there when it’s clear – the darker the shade you chose, the less you’ll see at night.

Polymer-dispersed liquid crystal. A layer of liquid crystal sits between two conductive sheets. Apply voltage and the crystals line up, and the film turns clear. Cut the voltage and they scatter, and the film turns frosted.

From your vehicle's 12V system through the included controller, on a switched circuit. The film draws power only while it's clear.

On a switched circuit the film is unpowered when the ignition is off, which is also its frosted state.

We do. A certified fitter comes to your home or work, measures your glass, cuts the film, wires the controller, and tests it with you before leaving. Installation is included in the price.
